The constitution is not by any means a perfect document. Heck, it's been amended 27 times since it was first created. Obviously there were a lot of situations that the founding fathers never dreamed of. And of course it didn't mention "flint lock" weapons specifically. That was all there was available at the time, so what exactly else could they have mentioned? That would be like you or I specifying that we're talking about cars that don't fly every time we talk about our motor vehicles.

Don't get me wrong, I support the right for people to own and use firearms. I own several myself. I believe in careful regulation, not outright banning. I don't believe that violent video games make children shoot up schools. But I also believe that the founding fathers believed in moderation and balance (hence the whole three branches of government and the checks and balances in regards to authority delegated between them). The 2nd amendment doesn't say anything about owning flamethrowers or grenade launchers. Do you think everyone should be able to own those as well? The answer is to just use common sense and logic when writing and enforcing gun laws.

No problem. My whole goal for writing this post was to help make people more aware, and a good amount of people have found this post and put their stories in the comments...but it is really hard when nobody knows who you are. Also, I believe that Chris Loech pleaded his case with twitter and that is how he got in contact with them, and they seemed to apologize for the incident, and un-suspended his account. I don't believe that it is a legal trap, to my knowledge.

Hi again, it occurred to me - why not make this even a bigger issue? In fact, I'm just not going to sit quietly as if nothing happened. We need to spread the word of twitter+lefty atrocity even on a bigger scale. I have some ideas, but I don't want to discuss them on this public platform. Email me.

Thanks for responding Shawn. If what you say is true then left is more organized and tech savvy than individual conservatives like me. I read through my entire timeline of both my now suspended twitter accounts, and there is nothing that was overtly nasty in any of my tweets. On the other hand, the nastiness lefties get away with on twitter is quite alarming!I think lefties are combing through people who have profiles with certain buzz words - for example - #conservative #constitution #freeenterprise etc. OR their tweets. Once they hone in on that individual, they're carefully picking on certain tweets and reporting them as spam or whatever. If that is the problem, it needs to be brought to twitter's attention. I'm just a bit wary of twitter. I think they're working hand in hand with certain lefties on twitter to silence any conservatives unless they are part of a bigger picture - like Chris Loesch. What are unknown conservatives like me supposed to do? My voice has already been silenced by twitter, twice. I think we are living in a new world of lefty-domination, wherein one can't offer any opinion or thought, if it isn't pre-approved by leftist ideology. PS: twitter has an option to plead your case for suspended accounts, but I think it is a legal trap to make one admit a mistake they haven't made. So long, twitter. But, thank you so much for taking interest in me and keep me updated, and I'll keep checking with you.

Hi,

I talked with people when the whole situation with Chris Loech flared up. And from what I know, it is not Twitter that suspends you directly. It is their system. The way they have it set up, is that if a whole bunch of people flag your account then the system will suspend you. So if someone like the people you were making comments toward told a whole group of people to flag your account then they can get you shut down. I know that Chirs Loech notified Twitter of the problem and they stated that they are going to try to fix the problem where innocent people get their accounts suspended.

So what are you guys going to do about it? My account has been suspended twice - under two different handles. I was a bit sharp in my criticism, once to Chelsea Handler, the late night talk show host on E! I questioned how and why she gets away with racism, anti-woman, homophobic rants and yet celebrated as an iconic comedian by the left. The other person who got my second account suspended was Greg Sargent of the Washington Post, whom I called a Obama crony. If you think about it, there was nothing nasty about my tweets. Private companies like twitter should respect our first amendment rather than capitulating to these liberals sensitivities. I'm just a regular guy - a conservative, and no one will pay attention to what I have to say. If there is a legal way to go after twitter for this kind of discrimination, I'm all ears. Do you guys have anything to say?

They suspended me apparently last night after I went to bed, found out when I got up this morning but it came right back. I was just now suspended again.
