Sources close to several news outlets have leaked information leading many people in the media to believe that soon to be presidential nominee Mitt Romney will announce House Budget chairman Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate for the 2012 presidential race.
Right now it is just media speculation, but it could turn to be fact in the early morning. Tomorrow morning, in Norfolk, VA. Romney will be making a speech on the USS. Wisconsin.
CNN, FOX and others are making the claim that it is a definite decision that Ryan will the VP nominee.
But it could be smoke and mirrors, and Romney could possibly have tricked the media. Or, Romney’s people aren’t the greatest at holding secrets.
If it is true, then Congress will be losing an asset that has helped form some of the key budget plans, among with helping lead the fight against medicare. But he will Romney define the message and what the sole plan is for November. Also, Ryan is Catholic, which will hopefully help Romney win over one of the key voting groups needed to win the November election against Pres. Obama.
But with this just being speculation, the result could still be another known politician. Namely Virginia governor Bob McDonnell. So it is possible that Romney could still have faked them.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next few days. The media are already in a frenzy, and some moderates are apparently already leaning towards Romney. So Ryan might not be as lack luster of a decision as people thought he would be.
UPDATE:
