As if President Obama had enough problems with his reelection for president, with the economy dropping by the day, and his healthcare law being questioned in the Supreme Court. He definitely did not need this latest bit of news.
In North Carolina, the state that had 20% of its Democrat party go for a ‘No’ option instead of the president. And who voted overwhelmingly for the pro-marriage law. Democrat congressman Mike McIntyre is refusing to endorse Obama as he seeks to be reelected.
McIntyre said the following to a local news station-
“We’ve always been steadfast in our work for eastern North Carolina and I’m grateful because we’ve had Republican and Democratic friends who have supported us because they know my heart is there and it’s not about a party agenda or any other person’s agenda. Our focus is on the congressional race in eastern North Carolina.”
The congressman has been refusing to give a yes or no answer as to whether he will endorse him, for several months now. If he does, it will be a last-minute announcement that wont affect anything except for the stories in the news.
With three states going heavily for another option in their primary, and other politicians either refusing to give an endorsement, or holding off until the last-minute. The outlook does not look good for the president.
There is also a hint of desperation coming from the Obama reelection camp as they recently launched a new effort to get married couples to have their guests instead donate to his campaign rather than receive gifts.
It might end up being a close race, but it is currently looking bad for the president.
