Celebrations Fill Ground Zero, White House as Homeland Security Fears Retaliation

Shortly after hearing the news that Osama Bin Laden is dead, hundreds of Americans filled the area at Ground Zero and collected in front of the White House.  Waving American flags and chanting “USA!”  There videos coming in from across the country of jubilation at the justice that has been served.  Many families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attacks celebrate with them, glad that Osama has been brought to justice.  Americans have not celebrated like this since the end of WWII when Hitler was killed.

As people are celebrating, synagogues and mosques in places like Philadelphia are on high alert.  Along with U.S. embassies and military bases across the world.  Homeland Security is fearful of retaliation over the death of Osama.  Retaliation should be expected in such an event, since the man had many followers all over the globe.  Terrorists have never been known for kindness or mercy, they are known for attacks and murder.

We will all remember were we where when we heard of the death of Osama Bin Laden, just as we remember were we where during 9/11.  Unlike 9/11, this is not a tragedy, but a victory.  We do not celebrate death, but the justice that has been brought about by our military’s actions.  No, he was not taken to court.  But I believe that in this case we all knew what the verdict would have been.

May God Bless our Troops and our great nation!
